TEDxPSUBerks is a culmination of new and fresh ideas, young global innovators and thinkers, and a celebration of diversity, backgrounds, interests, and ability to change the world.
TEDxPSUBerks, a one-of-a-kind conference where we openly discuss big ideas and challenges that affect our community. This event highlights an impressive lineup including speakers who are not typically heard from locally but who are doing incredibly creative, innovative, and provocative work in their fields – in addition to an array of networking opportunities offered through various activities for speakers and attendees alike.
Our goal is to create a memorable experience – to connect and bring diverse disciplines and backgrounds together around new ideas – in service of unleashing the thoughtful dialogue and passionate energy needed to promote creative thinking and community-based problem solving that will improve the quality of life on the Penn State Berks Campus and beyond.
Our theme, (Dis)Connected, is intentionally dual meaning. Connected / Disconnected
Whether it's a connection to culture and economies driven by technological advancements, or the disconnection from society because of the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) our theme allows us to explore important topics of a modern age.
We've asked our speakers to interpret the theme in any way they like. Join us in discussing these ideas and more on November 11th in the Perkins Student Center at the Penn State Berks.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBerks, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPSUBerks event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
